Personally, I eagerly look forward to all of Valerie's posts. I think the
whole issue of patenting, pharming, genetic engineering of foods or "new"
foods, is so massive that it takes a while for realization to sink in. Once
it does, It seems so massive that it appears to be impossible to do
anything about it.

We do need some massive, ORGANIZED group counter-action, and perhaps some
national media notice. I don't expect Valerie to lead the charge. I think
she has enough to do just to supply us with all this fantastic info. If she
were to be invited to do a Plenary session at ILCA, I would be the first to
sign up.

I second all of Barbara's advocacy suggestions - I have been negligent in
that way myself. Also I'm going to find my local Coalition - again - and
rejoin it. All it takes is money, time and passion, and not necessarily in
that order. Sometimes, all it takes is just one person talking to one other
person who believes you and has the right contacts to create a reaction.
