Laurie,

while i agree with everything you wrote about this baby (hematoma, 
vomiting, 2 day old), the intake requirements jumped out at me - my 
understanding is that a 2 day old baby does not need these volumes - it 
isn't until day 5 or so that milk requirements "leap" up to what they will 
be at, based on weight.  for the first few days, it just slowly climbs.  In 
your experience, is the situation different for a baby who is jaundiced 
and/or dehydrated?
