I have done a search of the archives, and a few other websearches, but I am finding an extreme case of no information on breastfeeding an infant with asymptomatic SCADD. (Short-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency). I can find some basic information on the disorder, but not breastfeeding a child with the disorder. I'm hoping someone here has had experience in counseling a breastfeeding mother of an infant with this disorder. Any information would be appreciated. How long should the child be maintained on breastmilk. One paper I found said to add cereal at 4 months to prevent hypoglycemia at night. I haven't really found anything else.

Feel free to email me off list.
