Hi Kathy
I too didn't like the sound of JCAHO (a hospital accrediting agency in USA)
focusing on lactation as a nutritional risk category. However, I have spoken
to nutritionists that feel this way, and also doesn't that put the mom in a
high risk group via WIC (USA supplemental food program)? I wish JCAHO would
focus on some things that would really make a difference with breastfeeding.
Like do you have skilled lactation helpers available and followup after
discharge?
