Sorry if this is a totally obvious suggestion that you've already tried, but
have you done the inservices on the night shift for them, so they can
actually be awake during them? When I was a night shift nurse (not on OB), I
could never really take in anything that was said during daytime sessions;
it's like asking a day person to come out to a meeting at 3:00 AM. On the
other hand, when I was teaching the inservices on nights, I actually learned
quite a lot about the unique concerns that the night nurses on OB had, and
it was helpful for me as well as them.
