Valerie, Several years ago I had a client who was able to nurse after
mammoplasty. The operation was performed when she was 18 years old. Both
nipples/areolas were entirely removed. She reported that good sensation
returned within two years. At the age of 30 she delivered her first baby.
Lack of confidence and circumstances led her to give supplements from the
beginning. She never attempted full lactation, so we do not know what she
was capable of producing, but I always suspected that it was possible. At
weaning she told me that she would definitely have the confidence to try to
fully lactate with her next baby. dd
