There is absolutely no reason to stop breastfeeding for a bilirubin of
10. If the baby is breastfeeding well, and growing and gaining and
there is no evidence of liver disease, there is no reason to stop
breastfeeding for even one feed. Stopping for a week will stop
breastfeeding forever. The physician should beg forgiveness of this
baby for stopping breastfeeding early on.
