I am looking after a young mother who is complaining of one tender, full
breast. She delivered a baby 3 weeks ago at 33 wks gestation. She started
puming right away and established a terrific milk supply, in fact so much
that she only needed to pump one side/feeding. she is now pumping every
second feeding and baby is breastfeeding the other feeds. Her problem is
that her left breast is always full and quite tender, her right breast has
plenty of milk but is not uncomfortable. She has been following the same
routine for both sides. Is it possible that she had a form of mastitis
without a temperature or obvious lumps, red areas etc. What would you
recommend for treatment. Please email me privately as I am no mail. thanks
so much.
