I also have a client who had twins.  They weren't sleeping well enough for
her so she used a sleep consultant...one twin fell into the new routine
fine.  The other did not - so they used the cry it out (CIO) method.  Of
course in 4 nights he slept just fine...

We have had a series of discussions on sleep within my mommy group.  I
always tell the moms the same thing:  Babies are little humans who wake at
night.  Adults do it too.  Babies wake because they are hungry, hurting or
just need connection with mom.  This is NORMAL.  The CIO method is child
abuse.  Period. 

Someday our society (at least here in the US) will get a clue and stop
freaking out about babies being normal...such a self-centered view point to
demand and force an infant to sleep on our terms...  I get it to a
degree...sleep deprivation is a real problem.  However, if we were given the
option of being home our children rather than being forced to go back into
the workforce at 6 wks pp we may not have many of the issues we have...
