My depot went from 200 pumps to about 10 when the hospitals opened up their
lactation centers.  It has been a struggle at times when the local hospital
refuses to refer moms out to the community b/c they want the revenues for
themselves.  It is amazing how the greed for the job overpowers what is best
for the moms.  They don't offer 24/7 coverage and moms suffer terribly.

The hospitals here walk into the moms room with the pump and the contract.
They tell them they can go somewhere else and even have them  sign a sheet
that says they can go somewhere else but they chose not to. So here the mom
is, 2-3 days postpartum, c/s, with baby in NICU and the LC is standing there
with a pump and saying, do you want to go get it somewhere else?   Is that
ethical?  Is that a corporate compliance issue?
