Joy, Some years ago, I had a woman from a kibbutz in my general region
call me with a complaint of low milk supply. Her first child was adopted,
and she had had infertility therapy to get pregnant with this second
child. I suspected the possiblity that she was treated for
hyperprolactinemia, and asked her to speak with the OB who had treated
her for infertility, and get back to me with the name of the drug and told
her why. I never heard from her again, but still think that the
possibility is good that she was given bromocriptine, and her prolactin
level remain depressed even into the postpartum period. Just a suspicion.
