I was also blown away by yesterday's report about an Israeli researcher
who believes he may have found the link between juvenile diabetes and
infant formulas. What kills me is that somebody is going to give this
guy oodles of money to try and duplicate the natural insulin in mother's
milk to add to infant formulas. The article also mentioned that in the
meanwhile, it may be wise to inject infants at risk with insulin.
Hasn't the medical community learned ANYTHING?! If only I had a
fraction of the budget to promote and support breastfeeding. Have any
of these bird-brains thought of getting the breastfeeding rates up
instead of "yes, we think breastfeeding is best BUT it isn't always
possible..blah, blah.."
