Barbara W-C and Pamela talked about non-healing nipple wounds and infection.
I am working with a mom (by E-mail) who has a nipple wound on right breast.
We corrected latch problems and wound started to heal and formed a scab. It
has been over a month and scab will not go away. mom also has breast pain.
We have tried the usually stuff (creams, breastmilk, airdrying etc). The
wound shows no signs of infection other than it will not go away and the
pain while nursing. Mom is convinced that baby is latched correctly because
other breast does not hurt.
Would your suggestions about open wounds not healing due to infection be
applied to this case.
Thank you for your input
