I'm a little behind in reading LactNet, but wanted to add a great
resource I have used over the years...any local hospital's dietary
department is supposed to provide community outreach on an "as needed"
basis for part of their accreditations. I have called the Registered
Dietitian a few times when I needed some specific disease-related
nutritional information for one of my BF moms. For those vegetarian
questions (and recipes), I have always received great
help/handouts/suggestions from the closest Seventh Day Adventist (SDA)
Health system hospital. Since they (SDA's) are lacto-ovo vegetarians
and, as I understand it, have a world-wide healthcare system, I am
guessing that any of their hospitals have patient resources for
vegetarian eating - including some pretty great recipes and cookbooks.
Their main medical school, Loma Linda University in Southern California,
has been a leader in vegetarian research in healthcare (which most
definitely includes pregnancy and lactation) and development of
vegetarian food products for decades. Sometimes, great resources are
sitting in our own backyards. :-)
