I am a book junkie, and probably own just about every lactation-related
tome. There are a few I would consider "must-haves" and Linda Smith's 2nd
edition of "Impact of Birthing Practices on BF" is one of them. Her
original co-author Mary Kroeger died after the first edition was published;
hence Linda did the second one alone. The 2nd edition focuses more on
BF/infant outcomes -- so it is a revision from the first edition. I would
tell you to buy the 2nd edition now ... and hunt around on used bookstore
sites for a copy of the first edition, once you can budget for it. (Another
must have is by Lactnet's own Cathy Genna: "Supporting Sucking Skills in BF
Infants") Both books are available from the ILCA bookstore, at a 10%
discount for ILCA members.
