Friends
This is the fastest way I know to let everyone know that I will be having
surgery on my hip again tomorrow Friday Jan 8th. Admission time is at 11:00
am for as an add on to the surgery schedule. So the time for the surgery is
unknown, just sometime tomorrow.
Some of you know that, I have been having major problems on and off since
October. Then all of a sudden on Jan 6th I could not walk because my leg
would not hold me up. The pain is severe.
I have spent the afternoon having tests which showed that the liner in my
artificial hip has come loose. From what I could see, it appeared to be
spinning around in the metal component. Something even the manufacturer says
it "can't do." It needs to come out because if the plastic is shredding it
can damage both bone and muscle.
The surgery is expected to be short. All that my doctor plans to do is go in,
replace the liner, and get out.
I have no idea when I'll be back on my feet again (if you'll pardon the pun)
Please remember me and my family in your prayers. My children are very
distraught because I have had two times recently were I was very near death as
a result of surgery. The last time was in May of 1997. They are frightened
of course. Me too a little.
Please email me privately at [log in to unmask], Rachel will be picking up my
mail.
Thanks
Marie Davis, RN, IBCLC
