"At this time of great tragedy, I would like to offer humanitarian aid to our Peruvian neighbors, victims of the recent earthquake in Peru," said Mayor Manny Diaz in a letter to Jorge Roman Morey, the Consul General of Peru in Miami. "The City of Miami shares the Peruvian community's grief, and will start a relief effort that will incorporate sites throughout the city." 

Thousands of people stopped by the city's fire stations over the last few days to drop off much need supplies including water, non-perishable food, baby formula, first aid kits, and honey.
