Janice, you have brought up an interesting topic and I want to make a
proposal to this group.
I have been talking with the ACS (American Cancer Society) about letting the
public know the health benefits of breastfeeding related to breast cancer and
ovarian cancer.
I sent her some of the most recent research and she has finally got the local
chapter to consider putting on their signs that breastfeeding helps in the
prevention of these cancers. She did say that she cannot tell the national
level what to write or promote.

So, here is what I am asking this group. If everyone were to contact their
local cancer society and ask them to discuss with you the benefits of
breastfeeding and breast cancer (and be persistent) then we could work on
them to pressure the national level to look more at the research.
In other countries, I am not aware if there are national societies for cancer
but if there is to do the same.
Each one of us can make a difference.
