The article in Lancet was later countermanded by much better research.  There
is no link between Vit K and childhood leukemia.  Breastfed babies (especially
those of Vegan moms) are the ones most at risk of late hemorrhage of the
newborn.  I realize MD bashing has been raised to an art form, but there are
some of us who do support breastfeeding and other natural approaches, as well
as recognize we have learned a few things in the last 100 years.  Why take the
risk of intracranial hemorrhage ?  Breastfeed and bond, then give the Vit K IM
or two doses po.
