I wanted to share with all of my Lactnet colleagues a recipe for increasing milk supply. Recently 2 of my clients have used this and although 2 is not very many, the results have been dramatic enough. The recipe is from a Doctor who practices Chinese Medicine and his words were, "Oh I can bring your milk in in 3 days". He has been practicing for quite a while and has a very good reputation. Both of these clients had babies that were at least 6 weeks old. One had never had an adequate supply the other had a supply that dwindled.

They both followed the recipe to a 'T'.

I figure, at the very least, it is good to have in our bags of tricks!

1 tilapia purchased live with head and tail removed and cleaned. The Asian supermarket called 99 Ranch on Clairemont Mesa will do all the dirty work for you.

3 green onions finely chopped

3-5 shavings of fresh Ginger root

1 1/2 tsp. Cooking wine

1 1/2 tsp. Salt

4-5 cups water

Boil it all together then let simmer for 20 minutes.

That batch makes enough for one day, drink it three times a day. I bought 5 fish at the market and am making my last (5th) batch today.

Good Luck. Let me know if you also have results.
