Driving a car requires full attentiveness in order to be safe in traffic.
Infants in cars are unsafe if they are not secured while the car is in
motion. Sitting on mother's lap is not protection from injury in a
collision. Sitting on mother's lap if she is driving, is probably even more
dangerous than if mother is a passenger.
Driving while breastfeeding shows disregard for the safety of your child, as
well as that of others on the road. It's too bad if this gets to be another
blot on the record of breastfeeding, and it should be noted that propping a
bottle for a baby in a car seat because you 'don't have time to stop and
feed the baby' is unsafe as well.
Better to get there alive 15 minutes later, than to arrive in a coffin.
Some people seem to have a hard time understanding this.
