I saw this piece on the local news, featuring our own Nancy Holtzman. The
interview with Bobbie Phillips was notable to me for her framing of formula
as the norm - she listed a ton of impressive benefits of breastfeeding as
"fewer ear infections, lower chance of obesity by kindergarten" etc.
Hopefully people were able to hear the stats without being distracted by the
need to Weissinger-ize her delivery...

Nancy did a great job! and made some really good points. Her moms group
had clearly persevered through a lot - the strongest message I got from them
was "it's normal to have problems" and we're not told about that...sigh. I
have to wonder if this should actually be presented as "it's normal to have
problems when you give birth in a hospital where every nurse who walks
through the door has a different idea about how to nurse and shoves the baby
onto the breast..." you get the idea.

Beautiful nursing babies, loving moms, nursing discretely.

Anyway, yeah Nancy! What did you think?
