Evelyn,
       How old is this baby?  By April, might he be old enough that he could
drink from a cup?  That would still allow measurement of intake.  I once
watched a 4-month-old at McDonald's surprise us all by "launching" himself from
mom's lap with absolute accuracy onto her straw and get his first drink of cola!
So if baby won't/can't drink directly from a cup, he might accept drinking
through a straw.  If nothing convinces the doc to change his mind, e-mail me
privately and I can offer some suggestions that might help convince baby to
decide to take a bottle.
