Clinical experience suggests that many of the drugs used to treat asthma can
be used safely during pregnancy and lactation (Report of the Working Group on
Asthma and Pregnancy, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, 1993,
http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/nhlbi/edumat/pub_prof.htm,  NIH publication #93-3279;
M Schatz et al, J Allergy Clin Immunol, 100:301, 1997).  Taking theophylline
during lactation may produce toxic effects in the newborn.......
