OK, I'm not usually so angry. I do believe in trying to write my letters
nicely, but I'm too disgusted to be politically correct. To quote Dr Jack..
AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH

<<To Whom It May Concern:

I've been a Target customer for at least a decade. After seeing your
article about the "advantages of bottlefeeding", I am incensed. In
fact, as soon as I finish this letter, I'm heading to my basement to
gather the Target bags filled with Christmas presents for my children.
I'm taking those gifts back to Target and getting a refund so that I
may purchase them somewhere more responsible.

I'm including a copy of the American Academy of Pediatrics policy
statement about breastfeeding. As you will see, the AAP strongly
recommends that nearly every infant be breastfed for at least a year.
They go on to describe some of the risks of bottlefeeding, which you
are inadvertently promoting. Those risks include more ear infections,
more diarrhea, more respiratory infections, bacteremia, botulism,
urinary tract infections, meningitis, necrotizing enterocolitis, SIDS,
diabetes, cancer, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, alleriges, etc.
Further, bottlefed children have lower scores on IQ and other developmental
tests. And the risks don't stop with the child. Mother's who bottlefeed
have higher incidence of breast cancer, osteoporosis, and ovarian cancer.

It's also interesting to note that in this policy statement, the AAP discusses
impediments to breastfeeding and lists "media portrayal of bottlefeeding as
normative" and "general magazine advertising" specifically. Target, you
are an impediment to breastfeeding, and for the sake of our nation's children,
you should stop it. Until you do, you've lost this customer.
