I think this article is misleading and scary -- scary in that it might
encourage non-breastfeeding.

 How do the writers of this article propose to feed the infants who are four
to six months old "peanuts, corn,soy,milk,wheat..." ?  to discover if they
are allergic.  (Much less, newborns?)  And what do they think formula is
made of?

It seems to me, if allergy to these foods is so high in mom that her baby is
at risk, then mom should/would already be avoiding these foods for her own
well-being and would not need a major change in diet to provide the least
allergenic breastmilk to her baby.

There is the theory that exposure to and development of allergies starts
prenatally, with the food mom was eating during her pregnancy.  (I think
it's Maureen Minchkin who has extensive material on that -- my old computer
files are not retreivable.  Maureen, are you still on lactnet?)
