I thought you might like know that the mother who was told not to
breastfeed her prem baby because of staph in her milk made her own
decision to breastfeed. She decided to use the antibiotic cream and take
her milk to be tested again to satisfy the doctor, but she hasn't phoned
to find out the result of the test and is breastfeeding all the time.
She told me the baby went to the breast happily, looking as though he was
thinking, "this is what I've been waiting for". I often think about
giving up hiring pumps, but knowing I wouldn't have been there for
mothers like her keeps me going. For this one baby I really made a
difference.
