Everyone, I want to Thank Kathy A & Kathy B for this forum. Norma's
mention of tingling from grandma and reference to herself & her friends,
made me so very, very happy. This is something I have not discussed with
anyone, part of me thought no one would understand and part of me
thought it may be because of my recent health problems, but I too
experience tingling, especially around newborns. It is great to know
that others have felt the same thing. At times I wondered why, I even
suspected that perhaps it was some 'biological' tug to have another baby
or that perhaps it just meant that I was too emotionally involved with
moms, babies, and breastfeeding. To know that is not just me, helps me
to feel OK about the reaction of my body.

On the WIC Slogan, the first thing that popped into my head was, 'Human
Milk, It Does A Baby Good,' but I am sure there would be trade and copy
right issues on that one.

I finally got to read Dr. Jack's article in LLLI's BF Abstracts, it was
great. It centered around assessing the risks to determine if
Breastfeeding is really contridicted in many situations. I was recently
approved as the KY APL and of course must now submit my 'goals' for our
state for the next six months. Dr. Jack's article gave me the idea to
try to get LLL of KY to get information out there, that breastfeeding
must be assessed with regards to all the risks concerned, especially
those associated with the alternative. I agreed with his comment that
the fact that many humans have survived without having any mother's
milk, is a testament to the adaptability of the human species. My wonder
has always been, are many of the rises in cancers, depressions,
violence, etc. in our society have a basis in a generation or two of
humans raised solely on a artificial product? As has been stated many
times here, inquiring minds want to know!
