Hi Bernadette,
        GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZEEEEEEEEEEEEE this ANRP
you're mentioning really needs a good whack -- getting mad that a baby had a
wonderful weight gain improvement bc it wasn't "her" way? how egotistical
can she get? Too bad you told her this early in the recovery what was being
done... Can she give you anything more concrete (or should that be "more
intellient") than "follow orders" for rationalizing messing with obvious
success and confusing this mother?
I'd pin her down to references to support her plan and then show her
info in the NEW BREASTFEEDING ANSWER BOOK, or another good bfing reference
about, like Riordan and Auerbach's, on slow weight gain/failure to thrive
and breastfeeding management...and ask why she's refusing to follow this
sound and proven information. I would suggest meeting with her away from
the mother so as not to further upset and confuse this woman!
This mom needs the support of someone to tell her that if bfing
every two hours is working for her and the baby is gaining than she can tell
the the nurse and the md to back off -- or get another HCP's opinion/help
and bag these guys altogether.

Sorry you're in such a bad place!
Anne E. Robb, MAT,
