thanks for your reply, pat !

i asked about which chart she is using and she said it wouldn't matter
b/c he has dropped like a stone and that would show up on any kind of
chart. she is not normally an over-reacter and is not pushing formula
or anything so abhorrent to me ('just' french fries, LOL!) but she
says the alarming thing is that he has basically been losing weight at
this point. i pointed out how active he is and that he'd been sick w/
a virus that obviously knocked even his bloodwork out of whack. this
made her decide to give him a cpl wks to gain before doing more
invasive testing.

as for familial patterns, i only have my other kids to go on as i grew
up in foster care and my bio mom has no records much less memory of me
and my sibs' growth issues. the only other child of mine close to him
was premie and 19 lbs at 1 yr. he always hung around 25 percentile on
the charts. the others were all well over 22 lbs by a yr and gained
3-4 lbs a month as well, compared to elijah's normal almost-pound a
month. but they weren't restricted by food allergies and got dairy
through my milk as well as when they started solids, if that makes a
diff ! (can you tell i'm convinced it must, at least in part ?)

grunting like a work ox.)
