My name is Jen Hunter..I live near Houston/Galveston Texas, I am a 30 y/o mom
of 6 children...1st three bottle fed the last 3 breast.  I have been doing
some doula work off and on for about 4 yrs.  I am working on my CBE cert as
well...I have also applied to become a Breastfeeding Peer Councilor, through
my local WIC office.  I am keeping my fingers crossed!  The coodinator of the
office is working on getting more funding for councilors, so hopefully in a
couple of weeks I will be a working mom! ;-)
I feel that I didn't have a good support system going when I had my 1st 3
children, and was not successful with my breastfeeding experiences with them,
I did stick with the trying and finally got it right with my fourth and wish
now that I had only stuck it out with the others too!  In my area of town,
there really isn't much support in the hospital.  I feel everyone should be
given the help that may be needed in order to start a great breastfeeding
relationship with their child.
I truly feel I have found my calling in life (other than a mom) and helping
pregnant and new parents start off their new lives is what I am setting out to
do.  I could go on forever...thanks for reading!
