Dear Lactnetters:

Below is a letter that is going before the MO House of Representatives
Public
Health Committee Members concerning breast feeding. Thought you might be
interested for general principles, but, if any of you would like to
contact any
of the members, please write me by private e-mail. I have a list of names
and
phone numbers.

contrary, a
mother may breast feed her child in any public or private location where
the
mother is otherwise authorized to be.
Section 2. Notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the
contrary, mothers
who are breast feeding their infants, who are twelve months of age or
younger,
shall be allowed a postponement from jury duty upon request of such
mother.
Section 3. All licensed hospitals, as defined in section 197.010.
RSMo. that
provide maternity care shall make a breast feeding consultant available to
a new
mother or provide information to such mother on where to receive breast
feeding
information.
Section 4. Beginning January 1, 1998, every licensed physician who
provides
obstetrical or gynecological care to a pregnant woman shall inform all
such
