I noticed 2 items in the last Lactnet digest regarding licensure and
reimbursement for IBCLCs. The US Lactation Consultant Association is
working hard on both of these issues. The website has information that may
help answer your questions in a FAQ section. See
http://www.ilca.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=4124. There are also 2
recorded webinars available from USLCA on reimbursement issues. Judy
Gutowski is the Chair of the Licensure and Reimbursement Committee and
follows Lactnet. She is able to answer many of these questions. I serve as
the USLCA board of directors liaison to the Licensure and Reimbursement
Committee. The USLCA's monthly newsletter is often filled with more
information on both licensure and reimbursement, which all USLCA members
receive each month.
