Yikes...I'm off then.

What on earth is he putting them on soya formula for? (Don't answer
that!).There has been so much in the medical and nursing press about why
this is hardly ever a good idea, even for formula fed babies. The UK Dept
of Health has a robust policy on it, and latest figs show that only 1 per
cent of the formula sold in UK is soya (will check that when I have a mo' -
it's from memory of a recent article in Practising Midwife; it could be
that 1 per cent of babies use soya formula - either way it is not much).

*Of course* reflux is a 'better' diagnosis for the mother and baby than
'breast milk allergy' ...all I am asking for is the right diagnosis, and no
diagnosis at all when it's appropriate. We are probably talking about
exactly the same things , that is, that 'sickiness' is the same as reflux.
The main difference is that one term sounds (in Brit. English anyway) like
a pathology, and the other one doesn't, and I think that matters.

There is also a spectrum, not only of baby's reflux/sickiness, but of
mother's reactions to it. Different things will help different people -
but like another poster says tonight, my personal preference is try the
simple things first! : )
