I worked with AIDS patients for two and a half years as an IV nurse specialist
(in a previous  professional incarnation).  During this time I got to know
several gay men very well and was bowled over when I saw Jim's shirt off for
the first time and that he had a nipple ring.  My first unguarded response was
"Oh Jim, didn't that hurt?"  His response was "everybody asks me that, but it
really didn't."  Thought folks might want to know.
