Hi Cathy,
It is very difficult for clients from cultures in which women have low
status to accept information from women counselors here.  I found that they
were usually very polite, and if you were lucky they admit what your client
did:  doubt as to the veracity of what you were telling them.  I found that
getting a man to tell them the same info often does the trick.
