Because I have personal experience with nipple vasospasm's (Raynaud's) I tend to think of this when people report nipple pain.

Sometimes Raynaud's occurs on it's own, but (as Dr. Newman states in his book) it can often occur from some other nipple trauma (bad latch, or thush) and it will improve as the initial problem is corrected, but will probably take longer to resolve.
