Jessica, the neo will probably say this one is too small a sample also, but
the info is worthwhile.

Could you suggest that the neo investigate the issue? Or look at more
frequent BF but for brief periods? Has the neo provided research reports
that support a position of infrequent BF?

In our areas we see similar recommendations for only 1 or 2 BF a day, but it
is not based on evidence (and most of the neos will admit it) - it's more
based on "this is the way we've always done it." Unfortunately, they
discharge babies home from NICU and to their own pedi, but they don't even
provide a plan for increasing BF as the baby matures. The mother's
psychological "vulnerable" baby state is not thought of by most.
