Hi, Gang,

I'm sorry for having offended people. I wish I could have learned this much
without
chomping my foot.

I have been told that many WIC locations do provide breastpumps, and that most
WIC moms are working, not on welfare. Given this information, my linking WIC
with the politics of welfare makes no sense at all, while my statement that
I wouldn't
expect people to work to obsolete their own jobs underestimates the devotion
of the
WIC people who do just that when they help their clients to work. Even if the
politicians have designed a system to trap people in it, the people who work
for it
can make it serve their clients if they're sufficiently devoted to doing so,
and if they
can convince their supervisors to let them spend the money.

My sincere apologies to everyone I offended.

Jonathan
