Hello Gentlewomen,

I just received a phone call from a woman seeking postpartum doula care after
the birth of her first child due in August.  When asking about her plans to
breastfeed she mentioned that, at this point in time, she isn't sure because
she will have to go on Depakote after the baby is born.  She isn't sure what
the pediatrician will say, what the side effects for the baby could be and so
on.  I have checked Hale's book and see that it is relatively safe for
breastmilk.  What I would like to know is if anyone has any personal
knowledge or experience with someone taking this drug while breastfeeding so
I can pass this info onto the Mom-to-be.  Please feel free to email me
