I also show a portion of the Royal College of Midwives VIDEO to my prenatal BF
classes. I like them to see the time it takes to get the baby latched on
correctly. It helps them to be patient, to wait for baby to open wide, & to
continue the process until baby does latch correctly. I am looking for another
video to replace the older one that I use to demonstrate milk expression-hand
expression & pumping. I anyone has ideas on that I would appreciate hearing
about it.

BOCA RATON is on the east coast of FL, south of Daytona & north of Miami or to
pinpoint more precisely, north of FT. Lauderdale & south of West Palm Beach.
Its HOT outside during the summer, but they usually have the air conditioning
turned to frigid in the hotels so be prepared. It's a beautiful area!

DAWN-I work in a hospital & know how difficult it can get sometimes. One thing
that I have noticed is that I must be careful of how I "say" things. We NEVER
say "tongue-tie" we say "your baby's frenulum MAY be a little tight" (Maybe
you already used that approach.) Most of our peds don't have a big problem
with that but some will NOT clip it. It sounds like you're dealing with some
"tough cookies" who may be having a control issue. The best story that I have
about tight frenulums is when the ped examined a 2-week-old baby, then asked
the mom if she was experiencing sore nipples. She was surprised by the
question because she hadn't said a word about any feeding problems. She did
have sore nipples (thought it was a normal part of getting used to BF) & the
ped showed her the baby's tight frenulum, clipped it (with her permission) and
the sore nipples healed.

I have been interested in the posts about HIV+ moms & BF. I am going to my
medical library to start reading some of the research.

I checked at one of the super "W's" yesterday to see if J&J had the
promotional video hosted by Rob Reiner. All I saw attached to the shampoo was
a big box of Q-tips. I did see the E-book (there are a lot of quotes by MD's
praising this method printed in the front), right next to a book about BF. I
hope more people are motivated to buy the BF book, especially if it is moved
in front of the other book.

Bye for now from sunny Central Florida, north-west of Boca Raton,
