Dear Colleagues: You are undoubtedly receiving many requests for charitable donations at this time of year. As you consider which charity to support, I hope you will seriously think about Monetary Investment for Lactation Consultant Certification (MILCC). MILCC provides scholarships to qualified IBCLC candidates (with financial need) from around the world. MILCC scholarships pay certifying exam and re-certification fees. MILCC has helped approximately 500 new and re-certifying IBCLCs since its inception. Each year, as the requests increase, MILCC responds, providing greater numbers of scholarships (74 in 2010).

You can send a donation and receive a. IBCLC pin or a colorful 25th Anniversary necklace...or you can make a monetary donation. Your contribution will be matched by the Hazelbaker Foundation (5K maximum) during the month of December. Please see the IBCLC jewelry collection on the MILCC website (www.milcc.org) and make a generous donation through Paypal. Thank you in advance and Happy Holidays to you. Anne Andrianos, Chairperson, MILCC BOD
