Hello again to all! I am about to use up my allotment of difficult problems
for the month I hope.

Had a call this morning from a mom whos baby has kidney disease. She was
asking about how to increase the sodium content in her milk. Lawrence 4th
ed says sodium intake by mom makes little difference in sodium content of
milk. Mom is giving the baby sodium chloride 4.4 mEq/ml, .45cc twice a day,
and would like to discontinue. Mom says her sodium intake is very low,
doesn't use salt for taste, not while cooking unless needed in baking, and
eats very little fast food or processed food. The doctor also mentioned
that the phosphorus content of her milk might be too high for the baby so
she might have to wean to formula.

What do you all think?
