I just wanted to thank everyone for all their suggestions regarding the
baby with the high palate. I spoke to the mom from my group today about
what she can suggest to her family member to try next.

I also got some new information (I've responded privately to those of
you who wrote to me directly) about the dyad... the mom had an emergency
c-section (doctor doing vbac apparently did not realize the baby was
breech - coming knees first!) and baby was aggressively suctioned at
birth. The baby gags when mom uses the nipple sandwich technique and
has gagged on Avent bottle nipples. Apparently at 9 weeks, the baby is
still quite gaggy.

Again, thanks so much for the suggestions - but does anyone have any
thoughts on how to help with the gagging?

Sincerely,
Liz Cammin, RN, LLLL
