Brenda, as others have previously mentioned, I too am very impressed with
your handling of this situation, and pleased that it was not me being
tested as I doubt I would have measured up so well. Your actions and the
response you received lead me to reflect that perhaps the reason the
majority of people who do 'laugh at' our profession do so because that is
the way they handle their guilt or pain at not having achieved their goal.
I will try to be more sensitive in future.
Likewise those who delight in our profession .. ie the ones who immediately
launch into telling you how wonderful it was to breastfeed their baby and
for how long they breastfed, are the ones who did achieve their goal.
