In another year I can start putting my stuff together to qualify to
take the exam. I always assumed it was the logical step up from my
current set of initials, and a good way to gain formal employment for
doing what I already do for free. Now I am not sure at all.

As it stands, I can give moms loads of information by phone, email, or
in person. I am not limited to lactation concerns only, and I *always*
ask about the perineum, healing incisions, and other postpartum health
concerns. I freely make referrals, but I do not report to any hcp as
an authority over me, and I do not hesitate to graciously provide
correct info where incorrect has been given.

The new SoP is dismaying to me, and I sure hope it gets changed before
I have to decide what to do about it.
