Thanks to all who have responded to "nipple confusion". I like the ongoing
dialogue on this subject and would like to see it continue! I've been trying
to stay away from THAT word, and today for example I talked about how it is
when we learn new dance steps or how tor drive a car or even learn how to
play a computer game that requires us to use a lot of different skills all at
once, and how suddenly we'll experience the "AHA reaction"- where we really
feel that everything clicks and we know how to do it. Well, the baby feels
that way when it learns to nurse, etc. etc. Lots of women smiled and nodded.
Hope it translates into action. I've also decided to show the Anita Baker
video to all the "Breastfeeding Workshop 1" moms-this is the first class they
have after initial certification into the WIC program. Everyone loves it and
watches it avidly.
