I have an odd question that a mom brought to my attention. I suggested more skin to skin contact and more baby cuddling to help with milk supply. She said that she was afraid to let baby fall asleep skin to skin because that meant baby was on belly and more at risk for SIDS. My question to the group is there any evidence that supports skin to skin and allowing baby to fall asleep on chest without being at risk for SIDS? I know what my gut says, but with the new AAP SIDS info coming out, there are many contradictions.

Thank you,
Lisa Paul, ICCE
