Dear Lactnetters,

I'm on a roll these days with questions! My sister is breastfeeding her 7
month old daughter who was recently diagnosed with an impetigo (perioral)
infection and the baby was put on antibiotics. She was given no guidelines as
to protecting the spread of the infection to her breast. I suggested very
good handwashing; separate linens/washcloth for the baby. This has been going
on for several days and she has no signs of infection on her breast. Should
there be any other precautions for her?

Happy Holidays to all!
