Morgan, I too want to add my thanks. (I tried writing to you off-list, but
my email bounced.) I have been thinking and saying for a long time that
breastfeeding is every child's most basic human right. It is something that
is so obvious to me that I cannot understand why it isn't to others and have
been trying to figure out how to explain it. Yet, just two days ago I was
(once again) banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to
engage in this "cultural conversation" with people who don't even speak the
same language as me in this regard. Thank you for reminding us, so
eloquently, that this conversation should not be framed in terms of
culture--you have given my own thinking much more clarity. 

I would like to publish what you have blessed us with wholesale on my blog
(http://reluctantlactivist.blogspot.com/). Is that okay and would you like
attribution? 

My toddler and 4-year-old thank you for giving their Mommy such a sense of
clarity on this that she will probably spend less of her time banging her
head against walls and more time giving them the attention they deserve!
